Applications
Opal Diffusers
Made from milky white resin, excel at scattering light to eliminate hotspots and create a uniform glow. With light transmittance rates typically between 55-85%, they are ideal for applications requiring soft, diffused lighting without compromising brightness. These opal diffusers are commonly paired with high-power LEDs, especially in compact setups featuring short distances between the light sources and the diffuser surface, ensuring even illumination without hotspots. Used in:
- Ceiling & Recessed Lights: Natural, glare-free illumination for offices, kitchens, and living rooms.
- Wall & Pendant Fixtures: Smooth light for hotels, retail, and accent spaces.
- Backlit Signage: Even glow for retail windows and digital boards.
Translucent Diffusers
They have light-scattering additives, allowing partial light passage while softening intensity. High-transmittance diffusers, typically achieving 85-94% light transmission, are essential in applications where maximum lumen output and energy efficiency are critical, while still requiring uniform light distribution. Below are the common applications:
- Troffer Fixtures: In commercial buildings.
- Industrial and High-Bay Lighting: In warehouses, factories, parking garages and tunnels.
- Task lighting: In areas requiring focused illumination.
- Machine vision: Essential for accurate imaging, inspection, and analysis
- Shelf Lighting: Used in jewelry cases, cosmetic displays, or luxury retail.
- Retail Showcases & Exhibits: Concealed LED strips for jewelry, cosmetics, or trade booths.
Diffused Micro Prismatic Sheets
By integrating micro-prism structures with opal or translucent diffusion levels, they reduce glare, improve visual comfort, and maintain high light efficiency. Widely used in:
- Office & Commercial Lighting: Ideal for LED panels, ceiling troffers and downlights.
- Architectural Design: Used in pendant lights, wall panels, and decorative luminaires to create modern, stylish interiors with soft diffusion.
- Public Spaces: Perfect for airports, stations, and schools, where durable, glare-controlled lighting is essential for safety and comfort.
- Healthcare & Laboratories: Provides bright yet gentle illumination, reducing eye strain in sensitive environments.
- Industrial Applications: Delivers wide-area, efficient lighting for factories and warehouses.

Product Tolerances
The three materials — PMMA, PC, and PS — exhibit comparable tolerance levels.
| Property | Value |
| Thickness | ±3% |
| Mother board Length / Width | ±3.0 mm |
| Cut-to-Size Length / Width | ±0.3 mm |
| Light Transmittance & Haze | ±2% |
PMMA has the highest thermal expansion among the three materials. It tends to expand when it’s hot and shrink when it’s cold. To ensure a perfect fit, use our Thermal Expansion Calculator to estimate the final dimensions before installation.
Packing
At Hexatron Technologies, we ensure our diffuser sheets are carefully packed so they arrive in perfect condition.
1. Standard Sheet Packing
- Mother Sheets: Large sheets (up to standard extrusion sizes) are stacked on pallets or crates.
- Final Cut / Cut-to-Size Sheets: Smaller sheets are carefully wrapped and separated with protective films or kraft paper, then bundled to avoid bending or warping.
2. Protection Methods
- Surface Protection Film: All diffuser sheets are supplied with a removable protective film to prevent scratches and contamination.
- Edge Guards / Corner Protectors: To prevent chipping or denting during handling and shipping.
3. Palletization & Securing
- Sheets are stacked on pallets or crates with interleaving layers and secured with straps or stretch film to prevent movement during transit.
- Maximum stack height is calculated based on sheet thickness and material to avoid warping or deformation. A pallet of 1.5 tons is the maximum weight.
4. Shipping & Handling Recommendations
Handling: Use gloves when removing protective film to prevent fingerprints.
Flat Storage: Sheets should be stored flat and supported evenly to maintain flatness.
Climate Considerations: Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures or humidity, especially for PMMA, to prevent dimensional changes.
